Recipes for the Young A series of recipes specially for kids
Baking/cooking with kids can be a way of spending quality time with them. These sessions can be fun and enjoyable and the kids get to participate and learn as well. At all times, do remember kitchen safety. Enjoy….
This month, we shall prepare a ‘red & white’ jelly in preparation for Singapore’s National Day in August.
Strawberry National Day Jelly
A 6 g agar agar 100 g sugar 400 ml water ½ tsp strawberry essence
B 100 ml coconut milk
C 7 g strawberry agar agar 500 ml water 100 g sugar
Method Put A into a pot, mix and bring to boil. Add B & allow to boil before switching off fire. Pour into mould and let it set. Once set, cut out design. Bring C to boil. Gently pour into the mould of set jelly & refrigerate. When set, overturn the jelly onto plate and serve.
HOME KITCHEN CREATIONS We conduct private group sessions for children between ages 6 to 14 with minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 children per session. Children will learn how to make jelly, cakes and/or cookies and they get to bring their creations home to proudly show off to everyone at home.
